M2U 2.0 Exclusive Preview
Just came back from Maybank's M2U 2.0 Exclusive Preview held at Delicious downtown. One has got admit that the event started pretty much on time, in conjunction with the Ramadhan month and the breaking of fast. Thanks to David who invited me, I was being briefed, very shortly about the event before making my way inside.
Seeing a few familiar faces at the tables, I quickly secured a seat and was just in time for the opening speech. Now, for those of you who are users of the current Maybank2u.com site, get ready for a whole new revamp of the website - entitled M2U 2.0, which will launch very soon. A good place for small events and birthday parties.
Those invited were encouraged to bring their own laptops for a hands-on experience of the new website.

Seeing that the current website focuses more on the bank, the new one will focus more on customers.
After the speech, everyone was invited to buka puasa. Went for second round with Jason.
Upon going in and browsing around the new website, one can actually deduce that the entire layout compared to the current one is much more simpler, centralized and less cluttered.
Although the new website has 4 columns, it is easy on the eye.
Transferring funds was a breeze with just three simple steps and easy-to-locate instructions.
Coupled with the 'tab' feel according to assorted banking categories, the new website is looking great.
And then, something caught my eye while looking around the new website.
Something that resembles a yellow man or a yellow monkey.
Something smart, chatty and helpful.
Meet M - your friendly financial buddy.
With four fingers, M sure can type faster than you can say "Hello".
Reason being - you can add M to your Windows Live Messenger!
Although the concept of having an online customer service buddy has been around for long time already, M is something one can definitely look forward to.

Okay, my fingers were itchy and I tried asking M personal questions as well. Looks like M responded.
And I continued :

Ok. So I asked a bit more :
This is interesting.
And M helped a lot by launching the website within Live Messenger itself and assisting in all kinds of things.
Hope to see the new website launch within the application soon.
Certainly an interesting and innovative addition in the field, this new website and its applications are pretty much in beta mode still but here's to hoping for a hassle-free and a customer-oriented online banking experience in the days to come with the all new M2U 2.0.
