Coverfield
Being on a cover of magazine is just great, don't you agree? One gets to wear designer clothes, put on nice makeup, experience the photo shoot and get Photoshopped when and where necessary.
Schaue ich gut?
One could also almost feel like royalty when being featured on the cover of any fashion magazine. Or other magazines for that matter.

Crumpets and tea made me.
What's better is if one gets to win some cool prizes AND get featured on the cover of the magazine, no?

Sin City 2 just got better

It's back again this year!

Let's check out the prizes first:

RM1000 CASH for first prize winner. I sure could use some of that. But I'm not eligible. What about you?

Wait no more and submit your entry today! Closing date is 29 Feb 2008, k?

Shutterbugs, finals are somewhere in June in Sunway Lagoon. Date to be confirmed later. A little early now but who wants to go?

RevTour 2.0 Rocks!
Two-time World Aerial Champion JOSH KERR (Snapper Rocks, Queensland, AUS) a professional surfer renowned globally for his aerial repertoire, landed a dozen massive aerials as he championed the visiting all-star cast who performed their tricks in front of nearly 40,000 people who turned out at the land-locked surf beach for the one day event, while thousands more clicked through to quiksilver.com to watch the Revolution 2.0 webcast live on the internet.
Though Kerr’s technical wizardry was lost on many of the spectators, most who had never before witnessed surfing first-hand, every attempt was greeted with cheers as people of all ages and nationalities surged forward in the Sunway Pool to get a closer look, or watched from surrounding vantage points, including directly above from the 428m suspension bridge, the world’s longest, that spans the park.

Fellow World Aerial surfing Champion RY CRAIKE (Kalbarri, Western Australia, AUS) was also a big crowd favorite, as he rocketed and looped his way through the skies in front of the Sunway Lagoon volcano. Professional TROY BROOKS (Bells Beach, Victoria, AUS) was the only surfer to land his ‘Superman’ style airs, a move borrowed from the moto-x riders who grab on to the seat of their bike during huge jumps.
Indonesian WAYAN “BETET” MERTA (Bali) and Peurto Rico’s DYLAN GRAVES also flew high
from the artificial waves, assisted by the speed of a jet-ski which was used to whip all the surfers, water-ski style, on their boards across the chlorinated water and into the breaking waves.

Then almost as quickly as it arrived, the storm passed and people got on with the party, dancing in their swimsuits under the stars and rocking out to headline music act from Bangkok, FUTON
The site of thousands of fans dancing and splashing water into the night air as the beats pumped from the huge soundstage, was awesome.
It is estimated in excess of 50,000 web users logged into the live webcast via www.quiksilver.com with hundreds sending in messages and email ‘shout outs’, some of which were read out live at Sunway Lagoon by hosts John Shimooka (Oahu, HAW, USA) and Matt Hoy (Newcastle, NSW, AUS), both former world-ranked surfers, hosts of the seven hour show.

Kemahiran Hidup came in handy at times like these.

Great people to work with!

Double happiness didn't end its run on TV2. Apparently, events are the main target these days.

Sunway Lagoon : a fun place for the whole family. And then some.

Local boys couldn't wait for the pros, so they kick started the show for maximum enjoyment.
Discussing a remake for The Italian Job wasn't easy. One had to bask for inspiration.
Chinese New Year came early so many had fun watching the lion dance.

Surfers took advantage of the flash floods in Malaysia. Raaaaaaaaad!

Smiling wasn't easy when everyone kept pushing in the crowd. These girls managed to pull it off. Hmm..

Oh! Gravity.

Outward Bound School's main man was vocal with the participants.

Baywatch : Surfer's Paradise. Special shot for FY. =)

Got wheels, can go.

Wonder what is he shooting...hmmm...she pulak looking elsewhere...lol

The SS visited Malaysia after 60 over years of indefinite hiatus.

Volleyball wasn't fun till you played with 50 players at one go.

Mich takes pictures and loves outdoor activities. Check her out at -[..PeaNUt-BuTter*ToaSt..]-

The Smashin' Popstar himself.

When lust meets stylish ticks.

A car-detailing center owner, a doctor and a skater. Happy birthday dude!

Malcolm grew up and chicks dig him still.
Shutterbugs alert!
Pop! Goes the weasel.

Part of my colleagues. Where have all the cowboys gone?

The rain made him this.

The crowd escaping from the Cloverfield monster had to swim across. Poor thing.

The 3 wise men was guided into the store.

No, not that mattress that makes up a Japanese bed.

Noel Gallagher took vocals very seriously in Futon.

She illustrates and paints as well. Those mighty fingers.

The first pasar malam held at Lagoon was a blast.

Anyone managed to catch the live webcast online?
Oh ya, not forgetting a group shot. Thanks to Jason for this picture.

So What?
Or is there another reason to life?
Looking back at life, I remembered how a close friend of mine had it all. He was top in his company, drove his dream car, had a lovely wife and two adorable kids. At one of our random chats, he would always ask the question, "So, what?", referring to the amount of wealth and happiness a man can acquire and would not know where is he heading to the next day. Well, he passed away the following week when he was out of the country for a company business trip due to a heart attack. This came as a shocker to those who knew him because he wasn't the kind that you'd figure a heart attack would take him away.
I guess when your time comes, your time comes, eh? But what strikes me the most till today is the following question "So, what?". I mean, really. So what?
In primary school, I wanted a bike and I got it. (It meant a lot to me that time) So what?
In secondary school, I wanted a computer and I got it. So what?
In college, I wanted a car and I got it. So what?
The endless chase of wants is never ending till today. Note: wants and not needs.
And I question myself, so what if I've gotten them all?
Come to think of it, nothing can satisfy us completely, even myself. It is as if an emptiness lives inside each and everyone of us, only to be filled by the things we desire from time to time. So, we say live for the moment and seize the day? It works but the fact still remains - that emptiness inside when we finally realize that life is not about how many figures we make a month or how many places we've been to among others. (Sure it would be nice to make tons of money and go to different places, nothing wrong with that! :p)
At the end of the day, it all boils down to purpose. If your purpose in life is to live your dream, then go for it. If it's to make a certain amount of money before you turn 30, then work hard for it and never give up. If the purpose of your dog's life is to be cuddled and to protect your family, then cuddle it all you want and let it protect your family when its time.
Realize one thing though, we can't know for sure what's the purpose of our lives because we didn't make ourselves. Only the creator knows what the creation is for, agree? So, does our parents know the purpose of our lives? Wait.....our parents had parents and they had parents too....go figure. =.="
Even then, when we have achieved so much in our lives, so what? Can that achievement be enough for us? Is it ever sufficient? When is enough, enough for us?
Being one of the most successful military commanders in history (he was undefeated in every battle), one must have figured Alexander the Great was satisfied with everything he had: wealth, women, glory and honor but on his death bed, he uttered these words: a tomb now suffices him for whom the whole world was not sufficient.Even for him, the whole world is not enough. Is it enough for you, wherever and whatever state you are in now?
By the way, I have a great job, enjoying great benefits that come along and I just got promoted. So, what? I still want more.

Quiksilver Revolution Tour 2.0

Tony took out the wheels for a smoother ride on KL roads.
Betet Merta (Bali, Indonesia) as they give a futuristic surfing demonstration to an expected 40,000 curious landlocked fans.

Catching sting rays had never been this fun.

Ry was the third man to walk on water since Peter.
Cutting edge bands Futon, Pop Shuvit, Joe Flizzow and world class DJ’s the Stylustiks are all confirmed in the day’s star studded line-up.

Dylan tried tuning his surfboard to a high E.
Now, where do I get them tickets? Hmmmm.

So::Graciously - January
The best part (or rather the toughest to pull) of this play is the 'live-video-live' sequence where the actors are required to 'run inside' the screen and appear 'on screen' while appearing 'live' again, a few minutes later. Well, that's where practice comes in. =)
Perhaps this idea has already been done and seen by most of us many times by now?
Well, technicalities aside. I think what's more important is to bring forth the message of forgiveness and show how important it is for us to actually forgive one another.
So, I hope this will be useful for those of you who need some ideas in reaching out to others wherever you may be. Drop me a mail should you need any further information and I'll be happy to assist.
But really, would you forgive someone who has accidentally or purposely do wrong towards you or your family for that matter? To the extend of taking away your loved ones?

A Collection Of

After being in the youth ministry for quite some time, most of my hard disk space is taken up with a huge collection of data that includes pictures, documents, sermons, videos, presentation slides, lyrics, guitar chords and a whole lot more of other uncategorized files.
We all know that these files will remain in my hard disk for a very very long time unless some virus decide to take a peek at my files and render it useless forever. At times like these, CD-Rs and DVD-Rs come in real handy as an alternative way of backing up data. There's that.
So, I have decided to slowly filter, edit and re-produce the materials which I think will be useful for those of you out there who would like to get some new ideas and perhaps develop further on it for your youth ministry.
In the mean time, check back here soon for more updates and happenings on So::Graciously.

Just In!

30,000 tickets for the upcoming tour. If you follow the skate and surf scene closely, people like Renton Millar, Trevor Ward, Jocke Olsen, Ry Craike, Josh Kerr and Troy Brookes are coming down. That's only one third of them.
Meanwhile, surf over to http://www.quiksilver.com/revolution2 for more event updates and happenings.
If surf and skate is not your thing, then come and support our local acts such as Pop Shuvit, lovemebutch and a couple more of great bands that play great music, live.
If local acts don't interest you, then just come for the sun, sand and sea. Imagination required, of course.
By the way, the tickets are not for sale but if you purchase a minimum of RM50 or above at any Quiksilver or Roxy stores, you are entitled to two tickets.
Or you could ask me.
