What The F!
Let's say you are typing a resignation letter, which font would you choose?

Perhaps between the both, if not given a choice, OCR A Std would seem like a better choice, no?
How about deciding which font to use if you are opening a tire workshop?

So, as much as each font speak volumes about one's creative direction and the multitude of purposes it is being used for, how about this for a change?

Obviously, there will be a difference when we speak to our parents and when we speak to our friends. Hence, we might sound like many different fonts for different occasions. The thought of it made me laugh a moment and then I came up with this:

Some preferred sticking to the original one on one.

"And the moral of the story is..."

Kevin left to fill in for Jay Chou's injured drummer that night. Crazy times.

Because He First Loved Us

“Why do you stand here looking into the sky?"

Waiting for the rest to arrive.

Kel, Jay, Sue Lane & Debbie.

Hosted by a lovely couple wearing the 'Yes I Do' tee.

Led by Andy and the band. God be praised.

We love because He first loved us.

Want to take the mini quiz and know your love language? Drop me an email.

Dude sang 'I Want To Hold Your Hand'.

Oneted (band), did a rendition of Estranged's 'Itu Kamu'. Nice.

What is love to you these days?
The Bible tells us of God's great love for us. Here's a little love note found in John 3:16:
That's the best place you'll find true love. No, really.

The Most Excellent Way
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
Have a lovely one people!

Eve Dinner
It was the first family gathering of the year and man, it was awesome. Not only the food was good but all my relatives were as crazy and loony as always. A few years ago, we were the ones running up and down the hallway, making tons of noise and comparing how many ang paus we have collected. Now, most of them are daddies and mummies to their very own and are giving out red packets themselves - even on the eve of the new year. One thing for sure - the noise and fun level has increased, even for a rather small reunion dinner. And of course, nothing beats meeting up your extended family members since the last congkak and tepuk batang ais krim game way back in the 90s. It's all good. Here's some pictures of the eve dinner:
The evergreen lantern setting the mood.

Ida and her ikebana made specially for our grand aunty.

Ilhan and his daughter, Adina.

Simple baba food is the way to go. Served shortly after everyone arrived.

Eating with hands are the norm here. Makes eating more 'sedap' than ever.

When one is thirsty, it can only mean this.

Of course, many opted water instead. Classic dispenser.

Aunty Baby with the mighty sedap 'Gong Xi Fa Cai' choc cake and Carl recommending it.

Rodney & Morris chilling after dinner with grandma.

Grandma is the most cherished person in the family. She's 90.

Some started playing cards as usual.

Hana & Inara jumping around. Kids have the most fun.

My old man with my minister uncle catching up on politics. LOL.

Uncle Sunny demonstrating the powers of the volcanic rock.

The Quantum Pendant uncle Sunny was pushing. National sports figures uses it too. Click.

Mum & sis with the house maids of 15+ years.

Aris the hyper kid is loving it.

Aunty Santha & Rodney with beloved grandma.

Inara all dressed up for the occasion. Cute!

Of mums, daughters, granddaughters, sisters, sister-in-laws, cousins, aunts and a great grandma.

The Ya-Ya Sisterhood.

Yes, I come from a family of mixed nuts. Great times as always.

Jamming - An Old Friend
Meeting up with some old buddies for a jam session on W-Day brought back so many memories from high school where everyone did it because it was the 'in' thing back then. It is the moment one discovers the soothing qualities of ridiculous amount of distortion, the almost therapeutic benefits of feeling an amplifier's sound waves vibrate through one's whole body, or the poetic justice of pounding away young worries on the snare drum without breaking the skin. And I must say, that no matter who you are the pure joy of jamming carries on well into adulthood.

At Awakening Productions - good for jams, practices and just having good old fun.
Jamming holds a universal value that transcends taste and nature of interest. There's something about a group of people in a room, spontaneously playing off one another's miasma and finishing even one song. Jamming is not really that different whether one plays music for the fun of it or as a serious career.

Stuff on sale.
One become better friends and learn to understand each other like brothers, while growing together both musically and personally. Of course, it can also be a chance to express ourselves and to blow off some steam.

During a STP cover.
But what does one really get from jamming? My take would be that people find a sanctuary for expressive and creative freedom. And once inside the studio, jamming is the outlet, one that could be quite different, depending on the value the individual person places on it.

Professionalism is not required.
And when your hour is almost up, and the studio guy signals you to play your last song, the feeling in your chest is more or less the same for everyone : college bands, cover bands, upcoming musicians, sessionists and gold-selling rock stars. You feel very spirited and self-fulfilled, and free from your worldly cares for a while. And the overwhelming sensation tides you over till the next time you step into the studio and rock your socks out again. Till the next session then!
