So::Graciously - March

Easter is just around the corner and while the world is busy celebrating it with bunnies and eggs, have we ever once asked what is the real meaning of Easter? Well, we can google it up these days if we are curious enough. As for this month's edition of So::Graciously, in conjunction with Easter (and in memory of the director, the late Raymond Koh), here's a short film production that was done approximately 3 years ago for Easter back then. Remember to drop me an email should you want a copy of it. Cheers and Happy Easter to all of you out there!!!

For last month's So::Graciously, click. And remember, Easter is not about bunnies and eggs. =)

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. - 1 Peter 1:3

Kecil-Kecil Cili Padi

One of my friend was asking me my nature of my job one day and I told her that I handle everything (well, almost) that is related to graphics in my company. So she went on and asked me examples and I told her it includes all the posters and graphic materials that one can see at the stores. From the biggest wallpaper to the smallest relevant item.

Then she asked, "Paperbags included?" and I nodded. Then I added that such materials are normally produced into a 'fun size' first before sending it off for mass production. "How fun is fun size?", she replied. At that moment I just told her the rough measurements of 'fun size' but she wanted to have a look at it.

Well, here are some photos of what I do partially and what it means to be 'fun size'. Enjoy!

Quite Thailicious

After learning about a friend's bad experience at the place, the first thing I wanted to do was to check it out for myself since I'm already going there. So, upon arrival, I immediately went and strike up a conversation with one of the waiters there just to see whether they understood English or not.

Guess what?

They did. Hmmm.

Perhaps for the party's sake, they used workers who understood the language better? Anyway, the food was great but I'd still stick back to my favourite Thai stalls near home that serve tastier tom yam and definitely much cheaper dishes. :P Here are some pictures from the party:

Look First

With the elections just around the corner, one would have probably noticed the massive amount of banners, flags, flyers and all that jazz being placed at every possible location just enough to give you a minimum view of the road / bridge / lane / junction / roundabout when you are on your way to work.

From traffic lights, lamp posts and billboards to bus stops, pedestrian bridges and even the poor longkang railing, nothing is spared.

From house rooftops, condo balconies and make-shift tents to road signboards, Astro dishes and clothes line, nothing is spared.

Even my car side view mirror.
ap

Nothing is spared.

What's next? PM surprising you at the toilet seat?
nm

The wonders of ambient advertising, eh? Well, nothing is spared. Not even dump time. Sheesh.

On another note, eight-time ASP World Champion Kelly Slater (USA) is once again World No. 1 after beating Reigning ASP World Champion Mick Fanning (AUS) at his home break of Snapper Rocks today.

asp-pro-08

Slater defeated Fanning 17.94 to 15.23 to claim his second Quiksilver Pro Gold Coast title and position himself atop the ratings for the first time since claiming his last ASP World Crown in 2006.

“Feel bad about beating Mick at home? Not in the least,” Slater said. “He’s won this event twice, I had to catch up.”

Undilah PPL (Parti Papan Luncur)

Slater’s wins didn’t come easily today. He had to beat 3X ASP World Champion Andy Irons (HAW) in the Quarters and 2007 Rookie of the Year Jeremy Flores (FRA) in the Semis prior to his heat with Fanning today.

Garfield On Indefinite Hiatus

Not entirely. But did you ever thought of removing the main character from a comic strip to find out what will happen? Obviously, the story will be distorted. But in this case, I laugh at the thought of seeing Jon suffer manic episodes and impairments in the perception and expression of reality. Well, enjoy!

Windy Day

As I came to work this morning, I realized that the weather was colder than usual. The sun wasn't even out and it felt like it was going to rain any moment. Upon reaching my work place, I noticed trees swaying and leaves flying everywhere. "Windy day", I told myself.

Then when I turned on my computer, I heard the wind grew stronger. So, I thought to myself, "Sure rain sooner or later."

As I visited my blog, the wind outside grew even stronger and guess what happened?
My entire desktop was taken over by the wind!!! Can you believe it?

I quickly whipped out my camera and took a short clip of it. Check it out:

Talk about virtual and real colliding.
