Sa-wa-dee-kap! at Phuket - Day 4
So, here's Day 4 while at Surat Thani,
Went for the standard breakfast, quite early,
Checked out soon enough to continue our journey.

To cross over to this place called Phuket,
Got down, snapped some pictures, a little sweat,
See Tho waited for us, best tour guide yet.

The day's event was to try some cooking,
At See Tho's office, where no one was looking,
We chopped, minced and pound, sometimes laughing,
To put together some dishes we were craving.

See Tho's Phuket office offers such a choice,
Where tourists can hang, cook and rejoice,
You can even joke and speak at the top of your voice,
And play masak-masak - regardless of the noise.

After lunch, we headed to Millenium Patong,
Before checking in, at the lounge, we 'gantung',
Enjoying the interior, we minum and borak kosong,
Till we got into our rooms, I practically 'kong'.

It rained outside as we prepared for the night,
I chilled at the balcony, quite a nice sight,
Day 4 - Part 1 will stop here, hope its alright,
Part 2 will be up soon, finish it off, I might.

Sa-wa-dee-kap! at Krabi - Day 3 - Part 2
To Wat Phra Mahathat Woromaha Vihan without a yawn,
It was the 'temple with no shadow', its no con,
Pigeons were aplenty outside, we were drawn.

It has been an exciting journey so far, this trip,
The weather was hot at that time, I could use a dip,
Outside, pigeons perched on Andy's arm with its strong grip.

Carrying on, we arrived at this 'silver' street,
Where borong prices of silver were sold - neat!
By then, I was already a little beat,
I sat down, KY too, with his little 'retreat'.

It was time for dinner, at Surat Thani,
See Tho brought us to this restaurant - half jetty,
It was seafood madness, we makan like babi,
Just look at the pictures - can make you hungry.

From assorted sayur, ketam, ikan and petai,
Oysters, udang, tom yam - all we bantai,
Super delicious, we even got high,
From the awesome tom yam - you'd want to try.

Perut kenyang, tom yam taste in our throats,
Our night ended in darkness, on a boat,
Ta Pi River and fireflies, this place has my vote,
If you do go to Krabi, check them out, take note.

Day 3 ends here, hope you've enjoyed reading,
These poems on my trip, giving it a different feeling,
Day 4 in the days to come, guess where will we be heading?
Clue : Where one can watch, at night - Thai boxing.

My Favourite Computer Game of All-Time

Well, if you're born in the 80s and have gone to kelas komputer in your primary school days, you'd probably have an image of all these elements combined together at one point of your class.
Let's give it a shot :

Look familiar?
Then, throw in a game play that's so addictive and challenging and an awesome soundtrack that keeps your fingers glued to the keyboard, you keep coming back for more.
What would you have?

Why, Alley Cat, of course!
Don't you just miss this classic?
Indeed, it is my favorite computer game of all time. Why you may ask? Here are my Top 7 reasons:
You're in primary school. Agree or not, going for a computer class is like entering a whole new world altogether. And I'm not talking about telling the difference between A: and B:. It was absolute bliss whenever I could step into the computer room because the 'real' class goes on for only 15minutes while the remaining 15 minutes was spent doing 'practical' work. And if I remembered clearly, the cikgu will go out for a cigarette and leave us all alone till class ends. Boy, did I enjoy my 'practical'.
Second - floppy disks rule.
It was the coolest thing ever that time, you'd have to agree. Alley Cat fitted perfectly on one floppy while other games needed at least 2 - 3 floppy disks. And by the end of the year, loving the game so much, I bet my cikgu could not find the green floppy disk that was labeled Kucing Lorong. Hehe.

Third - standard 4-color CGA graphics.
Same reason color TV rocked the world when it was first introduced in the 70s. Because all one could see at that time was only black and green (or white) on your monitor. Boring. Dead. Dull. But with 4 color CGA graphics, it's like seeing the rainbow right in front of your eyes. Nothing can beat that.
Fourth - catchy theme.
Handled through the computer's internal speaker (no, none of that 5.1, 6.1. and god knows whatever point one speaker system setup), Alley Cat's theme and sound effects was so catchy and snappy, one could almost tap their feet while tapping their keyboard throughout the game. With such rhythm included, it was a total gamer experience.
Fifth - you're a cat.
How often do you control an animal, let alone a cat in a computer game? No, cartoon characters do not count.
Sixth - addictive game play.
Jump in windows and solve mini missions. Avoid dogs, brooms and spiders. Catch fish in an aquarium while dodging electric eels. Release a bird and then catch it back. Or go crazy catching mice in a gigantic cheese. Where can you find such a simple yet addictive and challenging gameplay today? Harvest Moon doesn't count.
Last but not least - you get to kiss a pussy.
Yes, though sounding very wrong, when you successfully complete the mini missions, you come to a stage where you need to maneuver your way around other cats, to get to a female cat. If you succeed in kissing the puss, you 'up' one level and get an extra life. Now, that is what I call a good game.

So there you go, my favorite computer game of all time. And yes, this is an entry for the World Cyber Games Blog Contest by Nuffnang and Samsung.
Here are some other screen shots of the game :

Who let the dogs out?
Alley Cat (1984) by Bill Williams can still be downloaded and played on your computer today. Just go Google or Cuil it.

Who's Gonna Drive You Home, Tonight?
Was out with the usuals for a karaoke session a week ago and boy, it was good. Not to mention the soprano mistakenly going to another outlet thinking we were there only to find out we were not and arriving late. At least, she sang well to cover up her majesty's lateness. Good times and great company as always! Here are some pictures :

Vocal training was a compulsory thing every week.

Had a go at a Spin Doctors' track.Old school stuff.

Tikus Spice made a special appearance that day. Not bad at all.

The Notorious O.N.G. giving his all in all.

M2M wannabes made their debut right there in the room.

"I ken lee, i ken lee ni meju mo"

"I was gonna get up and find the broom, but then I got high"

Rock n roll.
Bila Round 2, guys?

Sa-wa-dee-kap! at Krabi - Day 3 - Part 1
It was time we left Sheraton Krabi,
Our next destination was Surat Thani,
And here's the continuation of our journey.

Our first stop was this place with many fish,
Part of the King's project, it was his wish,
No, we weren't there to savor it on a dish,
Halfway I was out of batteries, ish ish!

Making a quick stop at See Tho's, perut kita lapar,
We then came to this resort called Taha,
Deep in the jungle, you'd asked 'Mana?'
This place, namanya Nakorn Sri Thammara.

About seven dishes were served, all smelling good,
From ikan goreng to sayur campur, oh awesome food,
With the flowing river by the side, it got us in the mood,
We even had wine, great place - go there, you should.

We moved on from there to this small industrial place,
Where mangosteen soaps were made, in a rather slow pace,
This man showed us how its done in a small factory space,
Very informational, we bought some - yes, we were amazed.

Producing assorted items, using mangosteen dye,
From bags to hats, it was nice, we could not deny,
Be right back with Part 2 yea, for now - goodbye.

Xocolatl
I had the opportunity to attend their launch recently thanks to a friend who invited me, dip strawberries in the most wicked chocolate serving and even meet the Pussycat Dolls over marshmallows on a stick. Here are some pictures from the launch:

The backdrop.

Members of the media and guests arriving.

The interior cleared for the launch.

Music of the day.

The gods turned animals into chocolates.

One was served fruits with chocolate dip while models went around showcasing, erm, chocolate.

It was a sinful night.

Special performances by Mosaic Music.

The Pussycat Dolls - preMAA.

Theobroma = Food of the gods.

Kimberly had a go at it while Nicole posed with her fans.

Head on down today for the Total Chocolate Concept delight.
Will most probably go there again to try their beverages soon. For now, its Apollo and Choki-Choki. Anyone with me?

Sa-wa-dee-kap! at Krabi - Day 2 - Part 2
These poems are already in tiers,
Hope it doesn't bore you, I fear,
If it does, let me know, be a good cheer!

After soaking much in the afternoon
We arrived at this place, like a platoon,
La Playa Resort, to inspect the rooms,
Took some pictures, tea time it was, soon.

La Playa sponsored part of our air tix,
We even received a free night's stay in the swag bag mix,
It rained shortly after, KY got his fix,
Then back to Sheraton we went, it was 2 hours before six.

After showering, we were out again,
All ready for dinner, our tummies had the reign,
A long journey it was, into jungles and small lanes,
We soon came to this place - we had no complaints.

Ban Ton Kao - the name, with lush green plants all around,
It has a pond, a paddy field and even a playground,
Dinner was served, it was awesome, we gained few pounds,
They even had a Ferris Wheel, on the way out, we found.

On to the streets of Ao Nang, it was a leisure stroll,
KY & Kim paired up, Andy with Nicole,
We stopped at stalls, to check out what was sold,
Me, Kelz & Janine had ice-cream - rock & roll!

After ice-cream, we headed back, it was late at night,
We retreated to our rooms, to our beds, turning off the lights,
What a wonderful day it has been, what a delight,
Day 3 is up next, come back soon, alright?

Shorties #1 : Just A Thought
Then one day, while reading one of her posts, I decided to experiment and produce a short movie based upon it. This is what I came up with - nothing great but a simple silent video featuring some of my friends :
What do you think? Comments and feedback are much appreciated. Make it constructive though. Thanks a bunch!

On Parking At P1
Everyone was walking around, holding pamphlets and brochures clutched in their palms.
It seemed like 90% of the crowd was spotted without having at least a tiny plastic bag that contained a purchased item.

Years down the road and it is still as packed as ever.
As I squeezed my way through the throngs in the hall, despite it being air-conditioned I felt it was still humid and a tad bit stuffy.
I started to remind myself, what on earth made me come to a PC fair on a Saturday no less and in the evening?
And then I was reminded the moment I saw the bright colors that caught my attention.

The new booth in town.
I had trouble getting near the booth myself as it was jam packed with people around.
I was handed a brochure that had the information regarding WiMAX by one of the cheerful looking promoters that was working for them.
Despite the crowd and the heat, they still managed to give everyone a smile.
Everyone was waiting patiently for their turn to try and test things out.

Testing things out and signing up for free trials.
The astonishing thing to me was that how WiMAX has managed to come and took over everyone’s attention by a storm.
I stood behind someone who was asking questions about it, I was even more impressed with the descriptive and detailed explanation that was given by the people working for WiMAX.

According to some, the booth was packed since morning and the crowd never stopped stepping in.

Bright colors attracted the lot.

Visit the site to register or call for more info.
And here's hoping to hear more good feedback in the times to come. Gonna be testing the service soon and will be back with a short report on it.

Chasing Cars
Those three wordsAre said too much
They're not enough
If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me and just forget the world?

Went karaoke-ing with the usuals and planning to go again soon. Awesome voices!
All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes
They're all I can see

Win a Canon Printer or a PenDrive!
I’m gearing for this weekend because the PC fair is finally back again, and I have already listed down a few possible items that I might lug home from excessive purchasing. No, it isn’t just the female species that can shop excessively.
It’s time for the guys to come out to get their toys!
So it isn’t some urban legend that WiMAX is going to be one of the greatest gifts technology ever came up with but in conjunction to make WiMAX more noticed they are actually holding a contest with prizes to be won!
I was attracted as I gazed the list of the prizes that are being given away.

5 Canon printers (Model: IP 1300) and 10 4GB PenDrives. *Product may vary from image.*
Hey, I wouldn’t mind having a brand new spanking 4GB PenDrive as I have oodles of things that need to be constantly stored up or even a printer might I add.
The best part of it, you are actually able to download the PDF form from this site, print and complete it with your personal information and answer 3 simple questions and submit the form to P1’s booth at PC Fair this weekend!
Malaysians being Malaysians would never want their odds to be in an unfair trade, the contest allows participants to send in as many copies as you like.
To join the contest, just answer these three questions:
1. Who is the first in Malaysia to launch WiMAX on the 2.3 GHz spectrum?
2. What is the name of its WiMAX service?
3. In less than 15 words, tell us why you want P1 WiMAX.
Since everyone has been sprouting such wonderful things regarding WiMAX, we are actually able to finally test the connection speed out at their booth at PC Fair.
Nothing beats testing and trying it out yourself!
PC Fair had never looked more welcoming! See you there, perhaps?
