Goodbye 2008
So, to everyone who've played a role whether big or small in the following chosen events of 2008, I thank you and wish that 2009 will be a good and prosperous year for you. Here's a small gist of the second half of 2008 - a rather long roller coaster ride year that is :

And December's almost up - be sure to catch the next one in January featuring 2StoreyHeart, Izzy Mohamed, Secret Love Affair and Brokenscar.

Do Something While You Can
Many companies or even PR agents for certain membership or products claims to have an outlet for most subscribers or members to speak their opinions out but most of the time, personally it falls flat on deaf ears.
How many times have we written a suggestion and pop it into the submission box and it goes heard or responded?
I think one in a million.
But WiMAX has kept true to their words about wanting a proper relationship with their subscribers and giving them nothing but the best by truly acknowledging our judgment and thoughts of the public, mostly consumers of course, on just what are their thoughts on WiMAX's next location for their wireless internet connection.
Aside from feeling just a plain old customer having my cash taken, at least it gives me a sense of involvement with the development and progress of their expenditure.
WiMAX has come up with a fair voting system that can be found on their mini website, guiding us in simple instructions on how to vote.
They decided to leave it clean and trouble-free, without puzzling consumers with overblown bright colours or astonishing flashes and other gimmicks.
At least I know, I am voting for something that will certainly make a tiny bit of difference.

Talk about hearing us out.

I Won't Be Home For Christmas
But of course, we'll save that for another time. None of us are perfect eh? Moving on, last weekend, me and the usuals had a simple pre-Christmas celebration gathering since most of us will be tied up already by Eve. Thanks to Joshua who had it all figured out, it was indeed good to see the faces that fill up my email inboxs everyday again over some good food in the vicinity of Desa Park City. Here's a video and some pictures from the yuletide shindig. Enjoy!
Remember to hit play, then pause for it to load entirely for smoother playback.

The place overlooks a beautiful park.

Familiar faces of the yester-months.

Headgears were required that night.

The drummer and the princess.

Stories from the inside and the outside were shared.

The organizer of the gift exchange and the gathering planner himself.

The Spongebob lover, the tallest dude I've known and the royal shortness.

The reindeers - TomTinki.

There's always one or two missing - but there in spirit nonetheless.

Not a good thing to do after dinner but what the heck.

Exchanging gifts.

All the way from the UK. Thank you Amy!

Partners in gifts.

Good times as always.
Wishing all of you out there a Blessed Christmas and a good year ahead!

WiMAX Improves As The Year Ends
Just the other day, I was having lunch with a friend and seated at the next table were a few people wearing WiMAX tees who I assumed are promoters.
Preparing to order for my dinner later that day, a group of students walked in with pamphlets approaching a few tables which no surprise to me, were information regarding WiMAX services.
Yes, WiMAX is the new wave of broadband for 2008 as we come to an end, and it is coming on strong.
Most of us have seen or tried accessing their website which already has a brand new face-lift. The bright and clean look they had adopted, makes it easy on the eyes to surf and find out information that we need.
While making everything as easy and accessible for users, they put in the extra effort to use the function of the Lightbox (a function most photographers or graphic designers uses to display their work)

Maybe they might even announce humorous things of their services or even small feedback that they receive from subscribers.
Looks like WiMAX is going to end the year with a bang. Visit them today.

Eating In A Winter Wonderland
And if you've noticed by now, we Malaysians who love eating would probably spend a bit more for that dish after dish activity that not only satisfies the palate but also brings family and friends much closer to each other.
Having the opportunity to dine at Hotel Maya just recently, I'd have to say that they have certainly went the extra mile in their latest offer this yuletide.

Placed in between slices of lemon that gave the strong lemon scent from the plate, I scooped the line of mustard sauce and placed it on the turkey meat. To my curiousity, I asked what was the mustard mixed with and was told it had milk added into it.

Having the best salmon of the lot, I tasted the salmon trout that was fresh with no tangy scent or taste detected.
The tiger prawns was a little salty however covered with sesame dressing and yuzu vinaigrette, it made it pretty delectable. Not forgetting the fried lotus root-this brought back many childhood memories when my mother used to make soup with it during dinners at home.

This soup certainly enhanced the word 'fusion' for the tastes that was given interlaced with one another at the same time.
Adding to the fact that it had beef bacon in it,The bacon was crispy despite being soaked in the soup. Just talking about it makes me want to make a run for it for another hot bowl of it on a rainy Sunday afternoon.

I almost finished the entire thing despite it being known to be sour, this lemon sorbet wasn't that sour that would made me pinch my eyes. It cleansed my mouth and taste buds so I could appreciate the upcoming main course.

It isn't any bias reason of the fact I am a lamb lover myself, but the fact it was cooked so well and meaty in portion being completely wrapped with Bainiku sauce (plum sauce to most people).
The yellow tail fish marinated with Teriyaki sauce went well with the risotto, it was a perfect combination that I could have never imagined.

If you think you have tried the best apple crumble tart, think again. If you have not tried the one at Still Waters @ Hotel Maya, your missing it big time. Especially for dessert lovers out there.

Granted it is RM980++ in a studio room* and having a breakfast for two the day of check-out, but you can't exactly put a price on Christmas presents now, can you?
After all, it is once a year, why not splurge and mostly why not on your parents?

Cash It In
Firstly, I had nothing much in mind that I wanted to get and it goes without saying that probably was trying my best to hoard some cash for myself.
Christmas is around the corner after all, I shudder in thoughts of my Christmas list this year.
But honest to goodness, my peers who acclaimed excitedly to me when they got back from the PC fair, the feeling I felt could easily passed as me wanting to throw myself in the middle of a busy highway.
Knowing that the P1 WiMAX's booth would be up having a 15 day free trial to whomever who decides to sign up on the spot not forgetting small little freebies that tends to get around during the PC fair.
But the ultimate freebie was the one where P1 WiMAX has gone the extra mile this time.
P1 WiMAX has created a booth called Cash For Grabs.
All you have to do is get inside the booth and money would be blown around you by air and you can just start grabbing as much cash as possible when you sign up with P1's WiMAX.
Every single note that you grab, is yours to take home!

The Last Laugh Of 2008

Why of course, each comics that appear that night may not suit your liking or understanding, but you got to give props to them - for going up on stage to crack a joke or two in a room packed with foreigners, old-timers, newcomers and the odd walk-ins. And what's more, most of the time, these are locals which is why we should all the more give them the support they need. right? After all, they are there to lighten up our day through laughter for only a tenner.
As the saying goes "There's no business like show business" - which never fails to echo the general love for entertainment (think clowns and kids or men at

Taking Lead
It was told that our government has already predominantly set deadlines for the four WiMAX licensees to begin their services for the rest of us who has been anticipating for it quite some time. However, it seems only P1's been making various movements whereas, I do wonder what about the other three?
Just when can it WiMAX be utterly completely set to launch?
Aside from that little debacle that is going on within the business hand, P1 has a latest look on their website making it look far easier to the eye and way more attractive. The best part of it is that it is easy to check your coverage area by simply keying in your street name and it'll be spotted on the geographical map provided.
I may sound backwards but, that is pretty cool.
With its bright new clean cut look, the website is more user friendly now and attractive which makes me want to stay surfing around their site a little longer than usual.
I personally like the page where we could go and see which packages we could go with if we were to be thinking of switching to WiMAX.
The picture in there is pretty damn quirky.
Straight forward with no whiny explanations, P1 is certainly stepping it up.

Zouking About
One could say that some came to collect their membership cards or just to party the night away but clearly, everyone wanted to see the new rooms and be among the first to experience the revamped Zouk. Of course, there were also free flow of drinks that lasted about two hours for the thirsty ones that came.

Retaining its dome shaped exterior, one can never miss this venue for clubbers along Jalan Ampang in KL.

"You gotta move it, move it. You gotta move it, move it."
Making our way into the rooms, most of the crowd had a general 'walk flow' and being caught in between brought many to the place formerly known as the Main Room , or "Zouk" from now on.

The room had commercial dance tracks spun by DJ Leonard T and Terence C.

"Can I get a whisky please?"
After much ogling at the green lasers and having too much from the smoke machine, I was led to "Phuture" - the R&B and hip hop palace - through a secret entrance/exit door available at the VIP area. Being closed at that moment, I was ushered down to the bar area where people still coming in from the entrance like no tomorrow.

DJ Luqe kept the room warm before DJ Goldfish made it hotter later that night.

The four plasma TVs was a prominent deco-functional piece for Phuture.
Got mine in a jiffy and shall be using it soon. Talk about efficiency.

The "Welcome To The Pleasuredome" artwork was the eye candy for that night in that area.

The rain had stopped by that hour and the cool air blowing in was something you did not want to miss.
Spending some time there, I managed to get some finger food that went well with some bubbly I downed. An overall cool place to hang with your VIP friends, if you have any, that is.

Decked with cool furniture and an awesome ambiance, Aristo really had the VIPs enjoying.

Even the models came to party but they were upstairs most of the time.

Of friends and familiar faces.
*Barsonic is left out until next week after the launch this weekend.

Time Out : On The Up - November - Finale
This time around, let's get straight to the videos, shall we? I mean, no matter how much words are used to describe them - it will not do the band justice unless you've seen them live. And hopefully, by these one-song per band videos, you'll get a gist of our local talents and give them credit when its due.
Here's Alaling and The Kaya Koks, the third band up for Time Out : On The Up that night. Light and easy, their songs tend to take you on a dreamy journey at times. Enjoy!
They've also a short interview with Timeout KL's music editor, Brian Kwan - here. Check it out!

Without further ado, load the video below, get a cuppa and come back to view it - no regrets! Hope you enjoy!
To check out some of his other songs, you can also visit here.
Can't wait for the next one!
