The Birthday Treasure Hunt

And so it came to pass - my birthday. Knowing that there was already a surprise being planned, the anonymity of it caused me sleepless nights days before the real thing. It was the mastermind Kelz that had it all figured out weeks prior to the 'journey' that I would embark on at a shopping mall on a bright sunny day.

It was a treasure hunt.

And knowing that I love treasure hunts, Kelz got Jen, David, Andrew, Joshua & Yatz to help out. There were two things in the hunt : Clues & Treasures. Clues will lead me to the place and Treasure hints will help me find the 'treasure'. Check out some of them :

Clue #1
Spacious, shiny and bright, I have room for more than one name under 1 roof. I am the Seed of fashion for women and men. My friends give beauty to a human’s body, pretty feet or even their head. Its a concept that has much in store. Let your Nose lead the way. Where am I?

Treasure Hint #1
I’m popular but I deny it, but I am certainly in everybody’s top 10 list. And if anyone were to disagree, I’ll kick the person like how I’ll kick a bad referee in an important football game all the way back to Manchester.

__________________________________________________________________

Clue #4
I provide sanctuary for those who want privacy and lose themselves in a world of fantasies and imaginations. I also give wet dreams to the male species in certain areas of my body. Children grew up with certain elements that I provide and women learn about love and food. I’m an all-rounder that gives wisdom to all. Are we flipping on the same page here?

Treasure Hint #4
I love being who I am to the extend I am not afraid of challenges. Sometimes I wish I was even adopted! Maybe to experience how is it like living the truly tough life. To be able to flash and picture every moment in my life as I walk this path of mine. I get bullied due to certain disadvantages or rather teased more like it, but it doesn’t break me down as I remind myself just how awesome I am.
__________________________________________________________________

Can you guess them correctly? Hard, ain't it? Well, I was given 2 hours to complete it and managed to finish finding all the places and treasures in an hour - thankfully.

001
With my 'treasures'.

And here's a little summary of how it all happened - the places I stopped by, the help I got, the people I talked to - in fast-forward action (not all though) till the end. Some of my 'treasures' were even hiding in the weirdest places. Have a look and enjoy the video!

Remember to click play, then pause for the video to load completely for a smoother playback.
*Edit : The audio is not in-sync with the video for 1/4 second but still works fine.

Go on, go surf other things or get a cuppa while the video loads. Hehe.

DJ Play My Song!

Here's a plug for the two people I hang out with every week. They are cool, fun and funny. And Anna took some beautiful photos of them recently. Here's my favourite photo from her posting :

They have also recently joined a competition to win a night's stay at PJ Hilton.

Do vote for them here - if you like. (10 stars would be nice!)

Oh, don't forget to check out the rest of their photos from Anna. That's where you see David picking up Jen.

Very Bad Things

Don't know if you've noticed but over the past week, there's a strew of bad things happening - well, at least to the ones whom I'm close to and I keep in touch with. Here's a list of them :

1. Joshua's car accident which almost took away his life.
2. Kelz's fainting incident in a shopping mall.
3. Pam's car theft which cost her a Macbook and other things.
4. A friend's colleague passed away.
5. Another friend's aunt passed away.
6. The same friend's boss's dad admitted to the hospital for a heart attack.
7. Yet another friend's colleague admitted to the hospital for an injury.

And you've probably also heard about the passing of one of Malaysia's greatest talent, Yasmin Ahmad. My condolences to the family.

With all that has happened, I can't help but to find myself singing this particular hymn over and over again. Here's the lyrics :

I don't know about tomorrow,
I just live from day to day.
I don't borrow from it's sunshine,
For it's skies may turn to gray.
I don't worry o'er the future,
For I know what Jesus said,
And today I'll walk beside Him,
For He knows what is ahead.

Refrain
Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

Ev'ry step is getting brighter,
As the golden stairs I climb;
Ev'ry burden's getting lighter;
Ev'ry cloud is silver lined.
There the sun is always shining,
There no tear will dim the eyes,
At the ending of the rainbow,
Where the mountains touch the sky.

Refrain
Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

I don't know about tomorrow,
It may bring me poverty;
But the One Who feeds the sparrow,
Is the One Who stands by me.
And the path that be my portion,
May be through the flame or flood,
But His presence goes before me,
And I'm covered with His blood.

Refrain
Many things about tomorrow,
I don't seem to understand;
But I know Who holds tomorrow,
And I know Who holds my hand.

Words and music by Ira Stanphill

In times like these, I guess we all need some comfort, assurance and peace. Hope the lyrics mean something to you (in your own interpretation) and give you a sense of calmness like how it does for me, if you are among the ones that are going through some tough times in life.

001

But he said to me, "My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness." Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ's power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ's sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Langkawi - Day 2

Seeing that the sun has set a little, I made my way out for a stroll on the beach. Grace, Alex, Sharon, Kee Sitt, Mark, Mun Tzin, Ian and Lai Yeen had already been out for a while and was having a Pringles eat-out session. The beach was filled with people - sunbathing, wading, reading a book and a couple of guys surfing (or rather trying to catch a wave) as well.

000
Dude's stoked!

001
Here's Ian with his salty flavoured Pringles.

After having some fun on the banana boat ride, I decided to do some parasailing. Being my first time, I had no idea it was actually quite relaxing when you're up there in the air looking down. Too bad there are no aerial photos of the island as it was risk to be bringing a camera up with you. You never know where you might land.

Evening soon came and we headed out for some fun photoshoot time. We stopped by this Laman Padi place to make some magic behind and in front of the camera.

002
Making sure the place's safe to walk on.

003
I like this photo - everyone is randomly doing their own thing. Haha.

003a
Love how the sunlight settles on that specific spot.

004
"Eh, why was I posing like that?"

Here's a random shot I took while Grace captured the real thing from her side.

005
See where they were looking at!

006
Compulsory group pic!

The beach was up next - to catch the sunset and to capture more photos. The wind helped us to cool down and boy, it was fun! Can't wait to see the photos from the main cameras.

007
Sun's gone down at this moment.

008
Mark's Nikon D700 - canggih!

Will be boarding the plane back to KL in a few hours time. It was a good time away from the city indeed - what more with a bunch of talented and creative people. I'm glad to be working with them and hope to learn and know them more in the times to come. I guess some work and some play makes Jack a joyful boy.

Am In Langkawi!

After being signaled by the air stewardess to wake up and straighten my seat - here I am in Langkawi. I remember the last time I visited this place was about 10 years ago and it still looks like nothing much has changed over here. Well, maybe it's just the airport. Here for both work and play, the recommended thing to do in Langkawi is always to rent a car to get around. There are many vehicles to choose from : Perodua Kancil (RM50/day), Proton Wira (RM60/day), Toyota Vios (RM90/day), you get the drift.

001
Alex getting us a ride.

004
Kee Sitt with his new Lumix shooting in HD together with Mark Leo.

Kee Sitt shoots and captures brilliant wedding moments, if you're wondering. No, he doesn't do it with his new Lumix of course. Being a fan of his work for quite some time now, I finally get to see the man in action (and shoot alongside him as well) - hoping only to learn from the best. If you're thinking of getting some cinematic moments for your wedding, be sure to check out his video work over here.

003
Lunch - yummy greens for your body.

002
Walking it off.

After lunch - Grace, Kee Sitt, Mark and myself traveled to the Andaman to begin work for Amy & Stuart. The wedding was held at the beach - hours away from the sunset and it was a lovely one. Guests from all over the world came - Japan, Canada, UK, Australia, US. At one point, I felt that I was in one of the islands of Thailand. Maybe its the after effect of my Phuket trip in June, I don't know. I managed to capture some shots with my camera in between breaks (I handled video for work), here's some :

005
Guess the brand.

006
They had rattan fans attached to each chair.

007
Managed to take one while they were posing for Grace.

008
Kee Sitt hard at work - it's all about storytelling when it comes to video.

Will be going to the beach and for a fun photoshoot later. The sun's too hot now to go anywhere. Stay tuned for more updates!

Snack Attack! - Snowflake

Are you the kind that gets hungry easily after dinnertime? Looking for that late night snack or just some yummy dessert? If you're in the vicinity of Subang, you'd probably been to this place or might have even heard about it from your friends - Snowflake.

001
The Taiwanese dessert secrets unveils here.

Being the one on the lookout for a good snacking place- Jen decided that we should head north to this quaint little place for some good old healthy and refreshing dinner wash-down. We ordered their bestseller (David took another version of it in a glass) and was given this :

002
Behold the alien-looking device!

Thinking that it would beep (from its name) - we read the description and realized that it would only vibrate and flash lights when our dessert was ready. Nevertheless, we managed to record it on video - see what happens :

Their bestseller consists of Taroballs, grass jelly, shaved ice, gula melaka, yam and sweet potatoes (RM5.50). It comes with a small container of milk/creamer for that added sweetness.

003
And a big bowl at that.

004
The pro showing how its being done.

005
Yummy-licious!

006
David & I couldn't agree more.

Located just opposite Asia Cafe and above the Ichi-Ban Stationery Trading, the place is easy to find with the help of its big-lighted signboard. You're bound not to miss it as you make your way down the road seconds away from the famous Ganja Burger stall.

007
Feels like winter inside.

With sufficient tables and chairs for up to 100 people, you'll probably see many students choosing the place to unwind with their friends or to study for their exams. Power outlets are also provided along their main wall, so you can hook up your laptop and surf the Net there. Definitely a nice place to dropby from some cooling dessert in an air-conditioned surrounding.

Phuket Lovin' - Part 2

After the very cool morning swim and some exploration of Indigo Pearl, we rested and got ready for dinner. Seeing that our resort was located in the northern part of the island and Patong was in the south - we had to leave 40 minutes earlier so that we could reach at the intended time. Frankly, nothing much has changed since my visit here last year.

001
The famous Bangla Street that's cordoned off for tourist.

Hungry and ready to gobble down what came our way - we landed ourselves in this tiny little restaurant street that served the standard and affordable affair of Thai food. After much observation and going through some serious haggling (not from us but from the restaurant people) - we decided to go with the 'majority' rule. The Red Chair Restaurant had the most people there at that time - so we assumed their food was the best among the many and settled down for some authentic chomping time.

001a
Everyone came to eat here like the other restaurants didn't exist.

002
Happy to see their affordable prices - we ordered in no time.

002a
Fried beef and bean sprouts.

003
If you could only take a whiff of that dish - you'd know why the faces.

004
Green curry chicken - no, none of that Just Thai servings - this is the real thing.

005
Oysters & Tom Yam - there's also a fish serving which we swiftly 'sapu-ed' - no time for pic.

After dinner, we walked it off down Patong. The place is filled with stalls selling fake branded clothes, toy guns, boxing gear, random memorabilia, beer bongs, Halloween masks, jewelry and basically anything you can make money out of. If you've been to Petaling Street - Patong is somewhat like it - with an addition of 'other' offerings for pleasure if you know what I mean.

007
"No, I don't want another another vulgar statement tee for my collection, thank you."

006
This cowboy dude has been around for ages - you'd bound to see him performing some magic.

008
Apparently, Subang folks love this place a lot. There's even a Baba Nyonya Restaurant here.

With filled tummies and wobbly legs - we called it a day by enjoying the ride back to our resort - anticipating the next day. Stay tuned for Part 3!

Insightful Weekend

Twas was an eventful weekend - work and play both combined. Went down to Malacca on Friday to get things ready for a wedding on Saturday. Bunked at my boss's house the night before meeting up with Kee Sitt and his wife, Sharon early in the morning. Armed with our videography gear - we set out and captured the wedding of Pierre & Lay See in awesome cinematic mode. Pretty much a total body workout when you're running up and down throughout the day. Managed to rest a while in the afternoon before getting back on my feet for the dinner ceremony. Here's some shots from my phone's camera :

001
Pierre is one of the sons of the owner of the MAMEE group in Malacca.

David, Jen & Kelz came to Malacca too - with two objectives in mind : food and more food. Receiving their MMS containing pictures of them slurping up their cendol and munching down their chicken rice balls wasn't any help when I was working. Thankfully, we had another day to do that all over again, which we did. After work, Jason (whom the usuals met up earlier for some Tandoori and Naan) decided to bring me to Malacca's famous satay celup for supper.

002
Jian (aka Akira Ceo) also came along for some late night snacking.

Sunday was spent with a visit down Jonker Street for my turn of the famous chicken rice balls and some cendol to cool off. Met Jason and Freddie after that for a free trip to the zoo - perhaps more pictures on that later. Heard that there was a massive traffic jam in the afternoon on the highway back to KL - which we thankfully didn't end up in as we journeyed back home later in the evening only.

003
Doing touristy things in Malacca.

With all the magic that happened on Saturday and animal-watching on Sunday, it is certainly one of those well-balanced weekends that I have not experienced in a long time. Looking forward to the finished video for the wedding - will post it up probably in a couple of months time - stay tuned!

Bearing Good Fruit

004

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. By their fruit you will recognize them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Yakiniku Donners

Just got back from the premiere of Harry Potter and The Half Blood Prince thanks to Dr. Manhattan. Gotta say that it was a long movie (have you seen the book?) - but pretty good nevertheless. Very little duels and a lot of conversation, which turned out okay actually.

hp06

001
Cool passes.

Met up with Andrew, Ruth, Reuben and Sonia for dinner before going in the hall together. Funny that most of us ordered the Yakiniku Don over at Sushi Zen. Beef cravings aplenty perhaps.

Can't wait for the next installment! Go catch it at the movies if you're a fan - if you're not, you may give this one a miss or the least, watch the DVD at home.

Nearer & Nearer

004

But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— having a form of godliness but denying its power.

Phuket Lovin' - Part 1

The day finally came to fruition. Winning the lucky draw last year was indeed a blessing in disguise especially when you need some time off from the daily grind. And so the trip to Phuket happened with the usuals - in particular, at the Indigo Pearl. Roughly 10 minutes away from Phuket International airport, we arrived at the place all eager to experience the sun, the sand and the sea.

001
Welcoming letter at the resort.

002
Located in the northern region of Phuket, Indigo Pearl is an all-rounder resort for the soul.

After checking-in and going through the standard procedures, some of us wandered around to check out the 'metal' inspired resort that consists of white and blue cushions and sofa. The land which it was built on was apparently an old tin mining area hence their approach towards its architecture and interior design.

003
No, those sofas are really soft and not made of metal painted in blue.

004
Tin mine inspired architecture. What a way to place your plasma and attract on-lookers.

Dropping both our bags and jaws as we opened the door, we realized it wasn't any standard room but a mini-apartment-ish space that could not have looked better. Add some sunlight to that and it was just the perfect place for the getaway.

005
Wooden walls, mirrors and the standard television for starters.

006
The other parts that came with it (Thai models not included).

007
Awesome balcony with cushions and chairs to laze around.

008
David decided to crash in the bathtub after visiting the toilet.

Wasting no time, we settled in and got ourselves out in the sun and into the swimming pool to cool off. We landed ourselves in the Infinity Pool (the nearest) among the many pools available at the Indigo Pearl.

009
The pool that looked like it never ends from a swimmer's point of view.

010
Myself - David floating around - Kelz & Jen before dipping in.

013
An awesome aerial view of the Infinity Pool area found here.

After about 2 hours of swimming and frolicking around in the water - we headed back for some rest and relax before getting ready for dinner. We were going to head south that night - somewhere rather tourist-worthy for all its night activities and bargains. More on that coming soon in Part 2. Stay tuned!

012
When the night crawlers come out to play - up next!

The Taiwanese Affair Within

I bet a lot of us knows the Ampang area pretty well when it comes to the variety of good food. Having tons of 'tamans' (and not to mention linkage to the mountains for camping sites and river adventures) - there is not one place in Ampang where you will not find a good spot to fill that hungry tummy. One such place I've recently revisited was the Taiwan House located at the Ampang Point Shopping Centre.

001
Used to come here every week circa 2003 - 2006 for my dose of awesome beef noodle soup.

The place has definitely not changed much since then. Their tables and chairs are still located outside of the business premise. Their 'kitchen' is located directly opposite (in another lot) and you can see their workers walking back and forth across the mall walkway, serving patrons. Business, on the other hand is as good as 5 years ago - probably the reason why they have opened one at KLCC.

Known for their very tasty beef noodle soup - I decided to dropby for lunch with Kelz as we were in the area. We ordered their Beef Glass Noodle Soup (RM10.50), Dry Beef Glass Noodle (RM10.50), Spring Onion Pancake (RM6.50), Pearl Milk Tea (RM4.50) and a Coke (RM2.50).

002
Their beef noodles used to cost RM9 (with a free drink). I miss the old pricing.

With five beef balls (dry noodle) and 6 huge chunks of juicy beef (soup noodle), most of their noodles come along with a generous amount of vegetables - carrots, chinese cabbage, potatoes and white radish. You'll also probably get some salted mustard vegetable and chili for that added tanginess. The spring onion pancake (the pizza-looking dish) is also one of their best side servings. Thin crusted, crispy and with just the right amount of salt, you can never go wrong with this Taiwanese creation.

003
They've got a Korean restaurant next to them - wasn't as packed as Taiwan House at that time.

If beef isn't your thing, they've also got chicken noodles, chicken rice sets and dumplings for variety. Located in between a furniture shop and a rent-a-book shop, you can never miss Taiwan House as you make your way down from the escalator from the 2nd floor of the mall. However tasty - the slight increase in price has certainly not justified their servings. I guess its okay to be paying a bit more for something so niche as this.

Should you be interested for some Taiwanese affair, you can get some at :

Juicy Little Bits

When I heard that Boost Juice was coming to town through a friend who raved so much about it - I told myself that I had to check it out. After all, juice bars are almost non-existent here in the country except maybe for the ones served at local food courts, which tends to be overloaded with sugar most of the time. Try observing how it's being made when you have the chance and you'll understand why we Malaysians love our drinks sweet almost all the time.

I digress.

Anyway, back to the topic. I was pretty excited when I had my first cup of it - being a Brekkie to go-go when they first opened. Made out of banana, toasted muesli, honey, low-fat milk, TD4 vanilla yoghurt & ice + an Energiser Booster - I told myself and Nick (the friendly owner whom I've met) that this is the kind of drink I want to be sipping on everyday on my way to work, compared to Milo or fresh milk.

001
The bright, funky colored logotype attracted me.

Fast forward some weeks later, Nick and his wife, Soraya was kind enough to invite me and the usuals for a tasting session over at their very first outlet at KLCC. Much thanks to Kelz too for sharing her love for Boost Juice and introducing it to the rest of us.

002 Located on the 2nd Floor, Centre Court of KLCC - you can't miss it.

We gathered, got seated and warmed up to the idea that we were gonna have some good old juice for dinner. Not knowing what to expect, we set our eyes on the brightly lit and colourful overhead menu and discovered what a wonderful array of juice combos that awaits us.

011
Go for low-fat Smoothies, Super Smoothies or get some Fresh Juices or Fruit Crushes.

After a short while of selecting what we wanted and what's recommended, we finally got seven different types of Boost Juice to get going. Here's a lowdown of it :

1. Brekkie to go-go (my favourite - a Super Smoothie)
2. Mango Tango Crush (Fruit Crushes)
3. King William Chocolate (Indulgence)
4. Energiser Juice (Fresh Juices)
5. Green Tea Mango Mantra (Super Smoothies)
6. Mango Magic (Low-Fat Smoothies)
7. Tropical Pina Colada (Low-Fat Smoothies)

003
One can also supplement their juice or smoothies with a Booster.

Now if you're the kind who get hunger pangs every now and then, I believe its time that we move on to a more healthier alternative as compared to snacking on curry puffs, banana fritters and the like, not that they don't taste good (they still do) - but Boost Juice cranks it up a notch a whole lot more in terms of taste (extremely orgasmic) and nutrition-wise (at least 98% fat free).

004
Nick & Soraya sharing their love for extreme sports and Boost Juice to us - power couple at that.

005
Joshua & Kelz couldn't stop taking sips.

008
The Australian juice phenomenon has landed here thanks to them.

A quick observation over the counter promises that all such goodness comes purely from fruits, yoghurt and milk that works as a great natural pick-me-up. No artificial flavouring was seen being added, so I was pretty happy at that. You can tell :

006
Boost Juice are also a fanstastic source of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants - David certainly agrees.

So what do I like about it, besides it tasting fantastically great? Let's have a look :

1. All natural ingredients used (can't go wrong wanting to be healthy)
2. Staff at the KLCC outlet are friendly and energetic (smiles all around too)
3. Fun-loving branding (loud and eco-friendly)

009
Certainly a boosted night out. You can tell from Jen's face.

007
Sizes available : 12, 16 and 20 ounce cups seen here with the Boost Travel Mug (far left).

They've also got a customer loyalty program (called VIBE) going on where you'll receive special discounts and promotions by presenting your stamp card (given on your first visit there) each time you get a Boost Juice for a new stamp.

010
Did I mention the Banana Bread goes well with my favourite, Brekkie to go-go? Yummy!

Now, I can't wait for the other three Boost Juice stores to open later this year - which means I don't have to go all the way down to KLCC to get my juice fix. Not sure what to try out on your first visit? Here's a tip : Mango Magic, All Berry Bang, Energiser Juice, Strawberry Squeeze or mix your own juice. I heard the named ones are their best sellers.

You could always pay them a visit here, be a fan of them on Facebook or follow their updates on Twitter. I'm definitely going back for more soon.

L Is For The Way You Look At Me

I have never thought that I would pursue my passion in photography faster than my other friends who have been toying around with their cameras for years now. Of course, some of them are doing it as a hobby and some, for a living. As for myself, I was pretty excited when I got to join the Wedding Story team just recently. Having met the person behind it, Grace Tan - a couple of years ago for a video editing job, I am happy and proud to be working under her today.

001
Grace busy at work.

My first photoshoot was a pre-wedding one for the couple - Jack & LeAnne that happened in Putrajaya some weeks ago. You can read all about it in detail and view more beautiful photos of the couple over here. The shots here were just taken randomly when I'm not holding the flash or light.

002
The photogenic LeAnne and her husband, Jack.

I learned a lot on my first shoot - to be alert and sensitive to the tiniest bit of detail among many other things and this includes being physically flexible! (see photo below). Hafiz Ismail came along on that day too to join in the fun. Had a funny photo taken with him - click.

003
Using natural lighting and shadows are part and parcel of it all.

004
One of the first few shots I managed to take.

Certainly a new beginning for myself and for the couple, I wish them all the best in life. Nothing beats waking up to the one you love everyday. For me, I thank God and my loved ones for their support, and to be able to wake up everyday and see different couples coming together in the name of love - be it in real life or on my monitor at work. I see many happy days to follow suit from now on.

Baba Nyonya Food For A Change?

If you eat a lot in the Taipan area, you'll probably notice that there's a new one in that area - and a Nyonya restaurant to be exact. Now, how often do you get that here, eh? Well, if you haven't heard (or tasted) Nyonya servings before, perhaps this could be a good place to get that authentic experience.

001
The entrance to the place brings back memories from the little state.

Located in the Taipan Triangle area, you are bound to not miss it as you enter the food-filled vicinity. Being on the same row as one of my favourite places (Strawberry Fields) to eat in Taipan - Simply Nyonya Cafe promises their patrons that is it 'Nyonya Food Rediscovered'. Deciding to discover it all, me and Kelz walked in the already packed place, eager to taste and fill our hungry tummies.

002
I ordered the 'Ayer Longkang' - complete with a panaromic wallpaper of the historical city.

Orders were taken and we waited about 20 minutes before we were served - a rather long waiting time (possibly due to the insane crowd). Here's a breakdown of the food (single dish servings, we were keen on the white-rice + dishes but overheard that most of it were already sold out, bummer) : Ayam Pongteh Set (RM8.90) + Ayer Longkang (RM4) & Nyonya Fried Rice (RM6.50) + Soft Drink (RM2.50).

003
All photos were taken with my Nokia XpressMusic 5220 - blame the lowlight conditions.

Both servings actually felt like home - probably because its my own heritage and the 'ayer longkang' was a pleasant surprise to the tongue (think sourish with a tinge of sweetness). Reasonably priced and served by the owner's children (or grandchildren), I'd probably go back there again for a full-on affair with the house favourites when its not too packed.

I've also noticed that they have a rather decent website offering the history of the Baba Nyonya heritage, the infamous Baba Nyonya lingo (which I found to be very interesting) and a glossary of food terms used in their kitchen. Check it out here.

Should you be interested to tingle your tastebuds the Baba Nyonya way, the family business can be found at:
